My Lucky Day!

Something wonderful has happened to me today!  The past week has been brutal health-wise so I was ready for something special!  Mondays are usually my lucky day and upon opening my e-mail this morning I discovered that I am the winner of the SPRING FUN WITH BUTTERFLIES CONTEST - a beautiful handmade butterfly necklace, bracelet and earring set from Krafty Max Originals.

It's so pretty and summery!  I can't wait to get some new tee's to wear this set with.  Pink & Turquoise - 2 of my most favorite colors!!

Please read the Artfire profile on Krafty Max here and get to know this generous artisan! And do take a few minutes to poke around her blog - it's chuck full of information and lovely photos of her work.

Here she is, Kraft Max!

It's always exciting to win something but for me this is extra special.  You truly made this girl's day.  Thank you Krafty Max and Namaste!

Social Media Connects Artists

As an artist, Social Media plays an important role in my daily life.  My routine is much like this every morning while sipping tea:  check e-mail accounts/answer; check store sales/comments; check blog stats/comments and review new posts on my followers list; prepare new blogs; review facebook pages; check ETSY listings for new beads and the list goes on and on like Stumble Upon, Pinterest and Twitter just to name a few more!

All these little things take time and effort but this is how I've learned to connect with my fellow artists.  Through the wonder of social media I'm able to nurture inspiring relationships with some phenomenal artists, stay up on jewelry design trends and share information back and forth with people I'd likely never be able to meet in 'real' life!

There's so much information at our fingertips and I'm taking full advantage of every available bit and byte out there.

Thanks for stopping in and Namaste!

What's Wrong With A Messy Desk?

I just read somewhere that a messy desk is a sign of a genius!  Isn't that wonderful?!  The above picture is my studio desk top.  I have so much clutter going on that I barely have eight square inches to actually create with.  My desk is 8 feet long and has an 'L' that is another 4 feet.  There's no excuse for this mess!

It's difficult to tell, but there are 5 bracelets and 1 necklace in progress here amidst all the other 'stuff'.

Today I want to share my space with my readers and show some of the new items that I'm working on.

These new bracelets are absolutely yummy!  Watch for them in my store very soon!!!

Upon further investigation I discovered that a messy desk is just a sign of a messy desk!

Thank you for stopping by and Namaste.

Sandra's Cooking Up Some Bead Soup!

My Bead Soup arrived today, yay!  Michelle Jensen of 6 Petal Crafts is my partner and she sent me a delicious earthy, savory soup mix.  There's all sorts of ingredients here:  Cute Czech Glass Daggers, Luscious Red Tiger Eye, Lava Stone, Sweet Ruby, Jasper and Chocolate Jade.  There's also a beautiful large Jasper Focal, a seriously yummy clasp in gun metal and some tasty silver rings and beads to spice things up.

I've never worked with lava stone and never even heard of chocolate jade - I think that's pretty cool.  Michelle had all the beads packaged up all pretty in a lovely organza bag and made it personal with a cute greeting card!  Thank you Michelle!

I'm totally stoked to get started with my soup and can hardly wait until reveal day on March 3rd to see what everybody cooked up!

This is Lori Anderson's 5th Bead Soup Blog Party and my first.  This has been an excellent opportunity to meet new friends and stretch my creative boundaries and for that I am grateful.

Thank you and Namaste!

I just stumbled upon a chance to win a drawing for some very unique, beautiful beads.  They are handmade polymer clay by the Artisan, Pip from the UK.  These gems are from her petal and flower capped bead series!  Check Pip's blog out for your chance to win these little lovelies!

Aren't they just darling!

If I were the lucky winner I would be happy to receive any of these pretties but have a real affection for the Azure Skies!

Good Luck!
