Craft Sale Season

Craft Sale Season is upon us and I've been busy creating.  The inspiration for some of my new pieces comes from Lori Anderson's book, Bead Soup: 32 Projects Show What Happens When 26 Beaders Swap Their Stash.  You can read more about this super fantastic, super fun idea here on Lori's Blog.  I've been a participant for two of Lori's Blog Hops.  It really is a lot of fun.  If you're interested in purchasing your own copy of Lori's book, just click here!
Lori's wonderfully inspiring book!

My beautiful Picture Jasper Harvest necklace (which will be available for sale at the Variety Fair on October 4th) was inspired by Jeannie Dukic of Jewelry by Jeannie.   Her 'Roasted Eggplant with Chicken and Leeks Soup' recipe from page 61 really appealed to me.  I never would have thought to pair the picture jasper with the green jade & pink emperor jasper - thank you Jeannie!

My magnificent Rose Garden set was inspired by Heather Powers of Humble Beads.   Her 'Vegetable Garden Soup' recipe on page 28 spoke to my inner muse.  I used a handmade ceramic pottery rose focal from Captured Moments along with a variety of other stones and beads to create my new favorite fall set.  Heather is an amazing artist with books of her own.  Visit her page and see for yourself - thank you Heather!
Ceramic, jade, jasper and wood along with some pretty interesting lamp-work beads make up this substantial necklace.
I used red ceramic, picture jasper, agate and a carved jade bead for my matching bracelet.
Yes, I'm still stuck on my tribal-style jewelry - love this stuff!  The faux coral pendant is teamed up with some pretty interesting stones.....coral, onyx and carved onyx too.  Available for sale at the Variety Fair on October 4th.
I got busy making this stunning 3-strand Red Set with beautiful impression jasper, carved agate butterflies, green jade tubes and black onyx.  It's gorgeous and available for sale at the Variety Fair on October 4th.

I know this was on the last blog but it belongs here too!  Inspired by Lori Anderson's bracelet on page 69.  Love the mixed metals.  The bluestone gleams in the light and the swarovski's shine like little lights!  One of my new fav's.
I will have plenty of more new pieces for the upcoming fairs.  I do hope to see everyone there!  The next one is Thursday, October 4th from 11-4 at the Valleyview Memorial Hall.  Thank you for dropping by and Namaste!

Vacation, Guilty Pleasures, Lori Anderson, Prima Beads!

Welcome Back!  It's been a glorious summer here in Northern Alberta.  We had just enough rain to keep things green and no grass hoppers to raid the garden.

I'm just back from a late summer vacation.  Hubby and I packed up our holiday trailer and headed west to Vancouver Island for a month.  The weather was wonderful, the food was exemplary and the company - the finest!

I finally got to see some of my creations in the display case at the Messenger's Emporium.

Even on vacation, I carve out as much time as I can for my beading obsession!  Hubby caught me!
I couldn't help myself.  A quiet lake, nobody around, choice seating....I had to get my stuff out!  Wouldn't you if you could?  Hubby kayaked, I created!  Just the way I like it!
I came across this on facebook.  Isn't it true?  Love this.
I just received my copy of Lori Anderson's book, Bead Soup: 32 Projects Show What Happens When 26 Beaders Swap Their Stash.  Oh my goodness it's a great book!  So very inspiring.  Get yours here.  I've already created two beautiful pieces.  Thanks for the inspiration Lori.

My take on Lori's bracelet on page 69.  Love mixed metals!
Lori's Book - she's a very inspiring woman.

While I was away I received an e-mail from Prima Beads.  They are going to be sending me out a goody box.  I can't wait to get it!  And I can't wait to hear more about their desire to partner with me on social media channels.  More on this later.

Fall is definitely in the air and that means it's time to get back on track and that means more blogging and more creating!  So stay tuned!  I'll have lots to share with you.  Thanks for dropping by and Namaste!
