7th Bead Soup Blog Party!

Well, well,'s that time again!  Time for the much anticipated:

7th Bead Soup Blog Party hosted by the one and only:

Lori Anderson, blogger, author and hostess extraordinaire!

There are over 500 participants (including yours truly) this time around - a new record.  I'm stoked to put together a beautiful soup for my partner and cannot wait to see what everybody creates with their soup!  This is an exciting time for bead participants from all around the globe!  Stay tuned for updates!

I've made a few things lately and seeing as how I'm writing a blog today I will include pics for you!

Everybody seems to love these clear cracked glass beads!  I've paired them up with class black onyx for a style you will reach for every day because it goes with everything!
This gold tone bracelet features plasticized turquoise and glass beads for a rather beautiful look.  It's chunky, lightweight and just plain ole pretty!
I've ignored some of my glass beads for long enough.  Here are some really cool blue spotted glass beads paired with clear crystal bicones.  Think summer......the beach.....the know!
Big, chunky yellow lampwork beads and clear gobs of crystal - such a pretty springy look!
I just love how the natural pearls pop with these painted lime green glass beads.
More green glass beads paired with a very subtle shade of pink crystal make for a very pretty, simple bracelet that will take you through spring and summer!
I don't make a lot of gold tone jewelry but I had these long gold tubes that were calling me....the blue stone is called riverstone.  Haven't decided if I will keep this set for myself or not yet!  The necklace doubles as a bracelet - it wraps around my wrist 3 times - love that style.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today.  If you're interested in the weather, it's a balmy -24 in Northern Alberta this afternoon with light snow and a nasty wind!  Namaste!

Ruff Ending to 2012!

Mr. Brody
Look at this guy!  Happy-Go-Lucky all the time.  Smart, attentive and obedient - the perfect dog.  His name was Brody and he meant the world to me!  A couple summers ago I took a bunch of pictures of him.  My intention was to learn how to draw and create a pencil sketch of him.  Easier said than done!  I didn't realize at the time just how important these pictures would become - isn't that always the way?  I remember the moment clearly.  I wanted pictures.  He didn't want to have his picture taken!
May you rest in peace Buddy!
Brody got sick during the night of December 27th and passed away on the 28th.  No intervention could have saved him.  We don't know exactly happened but he likely had liver failure.  It happened so devastatingly fast.  Such an absolute waste of a beautiful animal in the prime of his life.

One must always look for the good in a bad situation.  I've discovered that it's very important to LIVE IN THE MOMENT.  That's what I keep telling myself anyways!

Yes, he wanted to eat the cat but he did indeed know better!

Napping in the sun with his best friend, Gracie!  What a team!
Brody & Gracie - my all-time favorite picture of them.
Our other dog, Gracie is a little lost right now missing her buddy as much as me!  She's finding her new place in our lives.  It'll all work out as we move forward.

Thanks for the joining the 'pity party' today and Namaste!
